We are home to the oldest dental hygiene school in Illinois and we are the state's only dental hygiene bachelor’s degree program. Our Health Care Management program prepares you for a variety of health care career opportunities in the health management or health policy fields in settings including hospitals, physician practices, nursing homes, rural health centers, and pharmaceutical companies.
SIU Carbondale offers the only accredited bachelor's degree program of its kind in Illinois. Our program provides you the insight and skills essential to enter the mortuary science/funeral service profession. Our curriculum places an emphasis on funeral practice regulations, grief counseling and funeral home management as well as a funeral director’s responsibilities in helping families during their greatest time of need.
You will receive training for a variety of diagnostic imaging exams in a program that provides the only bachelor’s degree in this field in Illinois. The nation’s increasing health care needs will put a premium on program specialties in radiation therapy, medical diagnostic sonography (ultrasound) or magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomography (MRI/CT) each with its own accreditation, educational and clinical training requirements.
