Online Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences
The School of Allied Health offers a Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences (MSRS) degree that you can earn completely online. The mission of the MSRS program is to provide a quality program integrating education, research, and service in order to meet the needs of the profession and improve healthcare for the people and communities we serve. The MSRS program is a comprehensive one that will prepare students to enter the professional workforce with a graduate degree in radiology, specializing in either management or education.
The target student population will be individuals who have successfully completed a program of study in the radiologic sciences or health-imaging field, holding a baccalaureate degree, currently licensed in a diagnostic imaging modality, and who is seeking to attain a graduate degree and enter either education or management within the broad field of Radiology and Imaging. The online Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences program has been specifically tailored to meet the needs of those who are place-bound or who hold full-time employment, which prevents them from completing a master’s degree via traditional methods.
The online M.S. in Radiologic Sciences program requires successful completion of an undergraduate program of study and the applicant must hold a valid certification in the imaging or therapeutic field of radiologic sciences. Applicants must meet all SIU Graduate School admission requirements, including a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework.

The online Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences program can be completed in approximately 24 months, or more, depending on your course completion rate. The entire program can be completed via distance education and students are not required to come to campus for any reason.
CURRICULUM AND COURSES
The online MSRS degree requires 36 graduate credit hours. You will be given the opportunity to study managerial and educational theories, philosophies, styles, and techniques as they relate to medical imaging departments.
The cost for the online M.S. in Radiologic Sciences program is determined by SIU’s Off-Campus tuition and fee structure. Please refer to the Off-Campus Tuition and Fees Calculator for additional information. Some courses will require the purchase of additional software or other materials.
